I had also gotten my 7 year old a different one from Discovery Channel store that is cheaper and is much better quality than this one. It is also much faster than this one, so my 4 year old is not happy that his is so much slower when they tried to race them.
Now my 4 year old wants to always play with his brothers' four wheeler instead of his. This toy would probably be just ok if I had not gotten a better one from Discover Channel. But seeing there is one out there with better quality, better price and better speed, I just can't rate this one very high.
I would recommend this toy because I think boys would love it. Even I like playing with it!
My only real complaint is that the instructions were in German and we were trying to figure out where the batteries go. But all in all it is a great toy.

Durability: Fun: Educational:
It's not that bad as far as durability - my 4 year old has run it down the stairs and pushed it by hand around the house and it still works. He also left it out in the rain for a few hours, and once it dried off it was fine. However, the remote control does not have a screw holding the battery cover on so it would slip off and the battery would come out every time my son used it. I had to tape it on so it wouldn't keep coming off. But the driver leans into turns and the controller directs the moves pretty well. Christmas present, December 31, 2007

I ordered this for my son for Christmas and he loves it. He loves how the guy moves with the ATV. For durability.. the antanae on the control broke at the top. It still works though. The cover for the wheel keeps trying to come off but it easily slips back on. The guys leg popped off and the head did also. But they popped back into place. It took a really beating though running into things and flipping around. My son likes to make it do jumps.
